INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION AT THE VENICE BIENNALE 2022

AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION

It consists in the use of BlackTrax© technology, a motion capture system that monitors the movements of the people and objects to obtain various “real time” interactions.

The use takes place through the implementation of IR (infrared) cameras calibrated in the space, and thanks to which the user’s position in space, is identified once the small infrared LED sensors are worn which are detected by the cameras.

COLLABORATION WITH THE VENICE BIENNALE 2022

During the 66th International Festival of Contemporary Music of the Venice Biennale

we collaborated with the artist Paul Hauptmeier for the creation of the interactive multimedia installation “Diaphanous Sound” thanks to the implementation of the BlackTrax© system.

Thus was born a hybrid space between real space. The audience, equipped with earphones, moves through the space listening to different sounds reproduced in specific points of the room. Thanks to the tracking via BlackTrax©, the sounds vary according to the viewer’s position and create a fusion between real and virtual space. This union becomes even more evident in the points where the virtual sound fades to merge with the sounds of the real space produced by the visitors themselves thanks to microphones placed in the room.

The space of the installation was divided thanks to the use of lasers which created different light architectures and walls of light and in turn defined the areas in which different sound realities were perceived, leading the public to walk in the space to discover all its secrets.

SPECIFICATIONS

Specifically, 12 IR cameras were used to completely map the space. These cameras identified the “beacon” sensors placed on the visitors’ headphones to understand not only the direction but also the movement and rotation of the head. The set-up also included 9 Kvant© Burstberry lasers connected to each other in a network and controlled in real time by the BlackTrax© and Pangolin© Beyond Ultimate systems.

The process began in our showroom where it was possible to test the technologies and interaction, program part of the effects, thus speeding up assembly times at the Venetian location.

Video mapping: what, how and why?

Videomapping 3D projections on buildings for events and ceremonies

We often hear many people talk about videomapping and 3D projections without understanding what they really are and what makes this technique different from traditional video projections.

Entertainment for events: digital graffiti

Special effects ideal for product presentation, weddings, square parties, city festivals, event entertainment.

We wanted to talk in this article about a different form of event entertainment, developed through video projections and which can be done on any type of wall.

What the hell is a Laser show?

laser show for events and shows

For many of you the word “laser show” leads back to the laser lights that can be seen in the disco, in reality, the potential of this technology go far beyond this use

Let’s start by saying that the laser show can be divided into 2 types, volumetric or beam effects laser show and graphic animation laser show.

How to best prepare your show

Every time a new technology comes out, a new particular special effect, here we find ourselves trying to include it in our shows, this is what the market is asking, to keep up with the times and to be able to put the ideas of a brief into practice.
