Videomapping 3D projections on buildings for events and ceremonies<\/strong><\/p>

We often hear about videomapping<\/strong> and 3D projections<\/strong> without often understanding what they are and what differentiates this technique from traditional video projections.<\/p>

<\/p>

What is video mapping?<\/h4>

The video mapping technique consists of projecting the building itself onto the surface of a building (but you can also use a monument, a car, a set, etc.), and then modifying and playing with its geometries.<\/p>

<\/p>

The fact is that to have a good optical effect and to perceive the real animation of these geometries, you must create an optimal situation.<\/p>

<\/p>

\u2013 The facade<\/strong> must be dark<\/strong>, any type of lighting would ruin the effect.<\/p>

\u2013 The video projector<\/strong> must be powerful<\/strong> enough to not perceive the real geometries of the facade. This is a very common mistake, either for simplicity or to save on the budget because powerful projectors are also expensive, but it is a factor that really makes the difference between a good video mapping and a makeshift one.<\/p>

<\/p>

\u2013 A professional control system<\/strong>, and therefore a precise mapping of the projection surface. To make the effect more spectacular and real, it must be visible from as many angles as possible, so mapping facades that cannot be reached from the front is essential. The best-known systems are definitely Watchout, Pixera, TouchDesign and many more, each one with its own peculiarities.<\/p>

\u2013 the quality of the content<\/strong>, because clearly if we have good projectors and a good control system and then we project poor content, it is worth it.<\/p>

What do we mean by quality content? Certainly content in very high definition and with fluid animations. Definitely content in very high definition and with fluid animations. Where to do a video mapping?<\/h4>

The possibilities are many. In principle, any three-dimensional object can be mapped. So you can choose two guidelines:<\/p>

Media importance<\/strong> of the object<\/strong><\/p>

So monuments, cathedrals, statues, particular and renowned buildings can become the protagonists and be mapped<\/p>

Visibility of the object<\/strong><\/p>

Unless the purpose of the show is a video recording, we need an object that has enough space in front of it to gather a good number of people<\/p>

What do you want to communicate<\/strong><\/p>

If the occasion is the launch of a product, the choice of the object could fall alternatively on the object itself (in the case of the car) or on a mockup of the same if its dimensions are not optimal.<\/p>

In this case, you can vary from polystyrene to wood, the important thing is that the surfaces are clear, better if white to enhance the projection.<\/p>

Why do a video mapping?<\/h4>

It is certainly one of the most spectacular solutions for an event or ceremony that can be created, especially if used in combination with other effects, such as a laser show<\/strong> or other effects and media.<\/p>

We coined the expression 4D Videomapping<\/strong> for a reason, because the three-dimensional projections of the mapping are joined by the fourth dimension of the laser that comes towards you and envelops you.<\/p>

How much does video mapping cost?<\/h4>
