<\/strong><\/p>

One of the most spectacular projection techniques is certainly that on a water screen<\/strong>. How can we make it perform at its best and where is it safe to use it?<\/p>

First of all let’s make a distinction, there are mainly 2 types of water screens: falling water screens and fan shaped (semicircular) water screens.<\/p>

<\/p>

Falling water screen (water curtain)<\/h4>

Especially suitable for indoor events, the screen (metal bar with nozzles) is positioned high up and the water reaches it via pipes that draw from a collection tank below.<\/p>

<\/p>

The water is pushed and kept under pressure by pumps, the higher the water screen is positioned, the more powerful the pumps must be to have a more homogeneous water surface suitable for projection.<\/p>

<\/p>

Fan-shaped water screen (semicircular)<\/h4>

Especially suitable for outdoor situations. The water is sprayed from the bottom upwards via a pump and a central nozzle, forming a fan where it can be projected.<\/p>

<\/p>

This solution, if installed in a body of water (lake, river, sea, etc.) clearly does not need a collection tank.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Basic elements for a good projection<\/strong><\/p>

<\/p>

\u2013 choose the power of the pump carefully, to optimize the size of your projection it must not be too powerful, nor too weak. The decision is influenced not only by the size of the screen but also by the location, humidity level and temperature, so if you do not have much experience, make sure to set aside a good amount of time for technical tests.<\/p>

<\/p>

\u2013 the projection will always be a rear projection<\/strong>. Frontal projections will have a much lower yield. For example, if you are at sea or on a lake, consider having a barge to position behind the screen to install the projector.<\/p>

<\/p>

\u2013 work a lot on the contrast<\/strong> of your images<\/strong>, we are not projecting on a normal screen, so normal images do not render properly. In the case of the fan-shaped screen, the focus of the image will only be in the center, so concentrate the main communication there.<\/p>

<\/p>

\u2013 The fan screen is very sensitive to weather conditions<\/strong>, the larger it is, the more it will suffer from the presence of wind. And clearly, larger areas will need to be secured<\/strong>.<\/p>

Once you have paid the right attention to these details, the projection on a water screen is certainly one of the most special and magical effects that you can include in an event.<\/p>

What to project on a water screen?<\/h4>

We can generally go and create laser<\/strong> or video projections<\/strong>, clearly these two techniques have different yields and characteristics, but what, at least for me, is the best solution, is to go and use them together.<\/p>

The video clearly gives you many more communication solutions, being able to go and project high quality images, while the laser can go and take those images and give them depth (laser show), creating three-dimensional frames and tunnels where to put our contents.<\/p>

However, we must be careful with the use of smoke<\/strong>, which must be well dosed and positioned to avoid it ruining the projection.<\/p>
